Zhongshan Hospital was established in 1937, named after Dr. Sun Yat-sen, founder of modern China. As one of the earliest large comprehensive hospitals established and managed by Chinese people. The hospital is affiliated with Fudan University (formerly Shanghai Medical University) and has developed into a medical center in Eastern China.
